About CSF Education Outreach
Our Mission…to illuminate meaning, expand understanding and deepen appreciation of Shakespeare's texts—through performances and workshops—providing invigorating, hands-on experience for students, teachers and communities throughout Colorado.
Now in its 12th successful season, CSF's Education Outreach Programs provide year-round learning opportunities for classrooms, senior centers and community organizations.


2002 Summer Programs

Careers in the Performing Arts — FREE!
For students grades 7 to 12, these seminars with CSF professional artists and staff offer a fine opportunity for the hopeful "arts practitioner" to learn more about life in the arts. Each session includes admission to the play, a Subway sandwich and a soda.

Camp Shakespeare

For students ages 11 to 16
Limited enrollment
CSF co-sponsors this program with PeakArts Academy.
Held on-site at CSF’s facilities on the Boulder campus of the University of Colorado, this popular 3-week summer program primarily focuses on the skills needed for acting Shakespeare. Students also participate in workshops on costume, vocal production, set design, stage combat, and movement.

Much Ado About Shakespeare Camp
July 29th through August 9th
For students ages 8 to 10
CSF co-sponsors this program with Collage Children's Museum.
Split between Collage Children’s Museum and CSF facilities, this exciting program has expanded to two weeks. Students will learn about the Elizabethan Renaissance, the life and times of William Shakespeare and get a behind-the-scenes look at how CSF mounts its plays. Hands-on activities at Collage complement theatre games and exercises at CSF, culminating in a presentation on stage AND a workbook to take home!

Wednesday evenings
July 10th through July 31
A comprehensive, non-credit course on the Festival productions. Learn how the text is translated into that living, breathing entity we call a performance. Admission to the performance is included with each class.

CSF Day Tours
July 9th through August 16th
Tuesday through Friday
10 person minimum per tour — by appointment. Take a daytime backstage tour with your school or community group. Tours must be booked 2 weeks in advance and a teacher must accompany all student groups. Cost is $5 per person.
